Painted en plein air in the desert near Windover, this piece was created during a moment of pause. While the mountain was being climbed, we remained—my dog and I—rooted in stillness beside the truck. The land held us as time passed, light shifted, and the rock quietly endured.

This painting reflects the balance between movement and rest, effort and presence. It speaks to the quiet peace found in waiting, the companionship that requires no words, and the certainty of reunion—trusting that what moves will return, and what waits is not left behind.
